When oral surgery is necessary

Some difficult dental cases require the experience and expertise of our respected oral surgeon, Hal Butler. Extraction may be called for if a baby tooth is preventing the normal eruption of a permanent tooth, if a tooth has suffered extensive decay or trauma that cannot be repaired, if a patient has gum disease, or if a tooth is impacted (usually wisdom teeth). Surgery can also replace lost teeth with dental implants. We offer a variety of ways to manage anxiety and pain during surgery to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible.

Watch out for those “wisdom teeth”

Your third molars are more commonly called “wisdom teeth.” Usually appearing in the late teens or early 20s, third molars often lack proper space in the jaw to erupt fully or at all. This common condition is called impaction. In this case, an extraction of one, several, or all of the wisdom teeth may be advised. We have the equipment and training needed to perform such extractions with an absolute minimum of discomfort.
